Home Cable was engaged primarily in installing, operating and maintaining a Community Antennae Television System carrying karaoke channels which played Filipino and English songs. FILSCAP advised Home Cable to obtain a music license, but Home Cable argued that it merely transmitted the broadcast content of television stations and other programme providers. The Court of Appeals held that Home Cable was rather originally broadcasting the same through “cablecasting.”
